These regional focus group meetings provide AURP members the opportunity to gather to discuss common problems and to share solutions with one another. The meetings are generally a day or two in length and are coordinated by the regional members. Typically, a tour of the host park's facilities and tenants comprises one part of the meeting. The remainder of the meeting deals with various issues of interest to the attendees. The following is a sample of issues discussed at recent meetings:
- Staffing numbers, salary ranges, professional development, and metrics
- Park Tenant Networking Tools Events and other sources used to encourage networking; Reports or results of networking with your research park
- Community Support What types of community support have you experienced? Good or Bad Benefits
- Cluster Development Do you have clusters? Results/Measures/Metrics of clustering
- Technology Transfer Issues
- Incubator Discussion
- Discussion on Venture Funding
- Real Estate Discussion
- Updates on Guest Parks
- Benchmarking and information gathering, legal issues, financing, infrastructure, etc.
